Five set of metro trains of 81-765.5/766.5/767.5 model for the new elevated Tashkent metro line were dispatched on Thursday by the Russian Metrovagonmash (subsidiary of Transmashholding), the holding said.
The Uzbek Ambassador to Russia Botirjon Asadov, the head of the Tashkent metro Oybek Khudoykulov, the senior managing director of VEB.RF (Vnesheconombank, which provided a loan for the purchase of cars) Igor Shabanov and the general director of Metrovagonmash Boris Bogatyrev attedned the dispatch ceremony.
The supply contract of five set of four-car trains for the Tashkent metro was signed in October 2018. Each train consists of two head motor cars, one intermediate motor car and one intermediate non-motor car. The service life of cars is 30 years.
The manufacturer will also supply a set of spare parts and materials necessary for the maintenance of cars, and will provide consulting for the maintenance personnel.
Metrovagonmash has been producing cars of the 81–765 / 766/767 series since the beginning of 2017 for the Moscow metro under the name “Moscow”. While, as per the customer’s requirements, an updated modification of cars were manufactured for the Tashkent metro.
Since 1977, Metrovagonmash delivered more than 20 sets of metro trains to the capital of Uzbekistan.
