From mid-June Kazakhstan began exporting electricity to Uzbekistan, the Kazakh Ministry of Energy said in a statement. 145 million kWh were supplied to Uzbekistan As of July 17 as per the electricity sale agreement between the two countries, with more than 1 billion kWh to be supplied to the Uzbek power grid during the year.

The delivery of Kazakhstan's electricity has become possible due to the surplus in the electrical capacity, resulting from the modernization, reconstruction and expansion of power plants in Kazakhstan, the statement said.
