On July 16, Uzbekistan Airways began operating regular direct flights to Tbilisi. The ambassador of Uzbekistan to Georgia Sherzod Fayziev and the ambassador of Georgia to Uzbekistan Zurab Abdushelishvili and the head of the Georgian Tourism Authority Mariam Kvrivishvili solemnly greeted the passengers of the first flight at the Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport.
At the welcome ceremony it was noted that the regular flights between Uzbekistan and Georgia will contribute to the strengthening of friendship ties, expanding bilateral cooperation and boosting tourists flow.
The direct regular flights from the Islam Karimov Airport to the Georgian capital will be operated twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays.
