The new hydropower plant was built on the Tuyabogiz reservoir in the Uratchirchik district of the Tashkent province. The project, developed by JSC Hydroproject, was launched in July 2017, Xalq So’zi newspaper reported.
The plant's capacity is 12 megawatts, the height of the reservoir is 30 meters and water volume is 250 million cubic meters. According to experts, the plant will pay off within 4 years, as the units will produce electricity 11 months a year non- stop," said Akrom Irgashev, electrical engineer, at the launch of the hydropower plant.
Experts say that the plant will generate an annual 41.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity.
The 15.8-million-dollar project was funded through the US$ 8 million of foreign investments, and 7.7 million of UzbekGidroEnergo’s own funds.
