Russian Eurocement Group commenced construction of a new US$ 160 million cement plant in Uzbekistan ўт Wednesday. The 3-million-ton capacity plant’s foundation stone was laid at the site of Akhangarancement, with the project to be completed in 2020.
“This facility will become the flagship of Uzbekistan cement industry,” the president of Eurocement Group, Mikhail Skorokhod said.
The plant will reportedly use high-end energy-efficient dry method, and produce high-quality cement, which will be used for major projects in Uzbekistan: power plants, road junctions, airfield pavements, residential, office buildings and will be the largest in Central Asia with full automation of production, low energy consumption and minimal environmental impact.
The construction of the new plant was reached a year earlier between UzQurilishMateriallari and Eurocement.
