As of September 10, GM Uzbekistan has stopped making sale contracts for GM Captiva, the company's said in a statement. The decision is in line with GM’s global strategy which is aimed at renewing the model range.

"GM Uzbekistan together with the dealer firms will ensure the fulfillment of its obligations under all sale contracts entered into to this date. The statement added.

Assembling of Captiva model started 11 years ago. The large-block assembly began in October 2007 and in September 2011 and in February 2017 the model was updated.

In June, then the chairman of Uzavtosanoat Umidjon Salimov (now deputy chairman ) reported that the Captiva will be discontinued by the end of the year. "Now a replacement for Captiva is being prepared. With assembling Chevrolet Tracker to start before the end of 2018.
