Uzbek Deputy PM/Chairman of JSC Uzbekneftegaz Alisher Sultanov met the President of Eastern Hemisphere at Halliburton Company - Mr. Joe Rainey, Uzbekneftegaz reported.
Joe Rainey noted that he was closely observing the economic and political reforms in Uzbekistan, adding that the company has long been intending to enter the Uzbek market. He said he believed that today was the best time to become part of the positive changes taking place in Uzbekistan.
The parties also reportedly discussed promising areas of cooperation, and reached agreements on the following:
- Halliburton will open a representative office in Uzbekistan;
- the parties will be working on identification of the scheme of interaction to increase production at low-rate wells;
- Joint working group will explore the possibility of joint participation in projects in the third markets.
At the end of the meeting, Joe Rainey stressed that the company is interested not simply supplying equipment and materials, but in establishing of the long-term cooperation with the full presence of the company in Uzbekistan. To this end, Joe Rainey plans to attract the best experts at Halliburton to cooperate with Uzbekneftegaz.
