President of Uzbekistan issued decree Thursday allowing sale of gold and silver bullions, weighing from 5 to 1000 g which are to be produced in a new plant at the Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Complex as of the spring of 2019, the Committee for Tourism Development said in a statement.

Tourists from India and China love buying gold jewelry, as well as gold bullions the statement added. The move is said to “help develop the precious metals market and promote Uzbekistan as an attractive tourism destination", the committee said in its Facebook page.

In addition, the Central Bank will issue coins of precious metals for sale, with a document regulating the import and export of precious metals expected to be prepared.
