1 to 50-ton range Hyundai trucks, intercity and tourist buses, and special vehicles will be assembled in Namangan, UzA reported. The presentation of the project was held on the margins of the meeting of the president of Evergreen Motors Group Kim Chang Kyoung with Namangan province governor Khairullo Bozorov.
1000 vehicles will be produced in the first year. Then within three years, the production will be elevated to 3000 cars, 2000 trucks and 1000 buses.
Spare parts will initially be imported from the Republic of Korea, and later part of them will be localized, with 100 jobs to be created immediately after the launch of the plant, and the number expected to rise to 6000 in the future.
The company officials visited the sites recommended for the construction of the plant.
The deal on assembling of Hyundai cars in Uzbekistan was reached during the visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Seoul last November.
