Turakurgan TPP Construction Management Company, Uzbekenergo and the consortium of Japanese companies including Mitsubishi Corporation and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems, Ltd. signed a contract to build a 900 MW thermal power plant in Namangan region on turnkey basis.

At the signing ceremony were present the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan, Nobuaki Ito, Head of JICA Representative Office in Uzbekistan, Katsutoshi Fushimi and Chairman of UzbekEnergo, Salomov Fazlitdin.

The project foresees construction of a new thermal power plant comprising two modern and efficient combined-cycle plant which will ensure reliable supply of enterprises and households in Fergana valley with electricity.

The project Investors are JICA, the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan and UzbekEnergo.
