The Uzbek-German JV MAN Auto-Uzbekistan will launch production of MAN Lion's intercity coach, Volkswagen Amarok pick-up truck and expand the range of MAN CLA trucks.
The deal on the launch of production was signed by UzAvtoSanoat and Volkswagen AG during the official visit of the Uzbek government delegation led by PM Abdulla Aripov to Germany and the Uzbekistan-Germany business forum. The project is planned to be implemented in 2018-2020, the company said.
MAN Lion's Coach - a series of premium class full-size tourist buses. It is expected that the production of new buses will serve to improve Uzbekistan’s intercity transport system. Earlier JV MAN Auto-Uzbekistan mastered production of low-floor inner city MAN A22 CNG (on compressed natural gas, LNG) buses.
Amarok is a mid-sized pick-up truck produced by Volswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWCV) since 2010. It is a traditional body-on-frame truck with double wishbone suspension at the front and leaf springs at the rear with either rear wheel drive or 4 motion four-wheel-drive, and is powered by turbocharged gasoline or turbocharged direct injection (TDI) 8-speed box and 3-liter V6 engine.
