Uzbekistan Peugeot-Citroen Automotive plant will be completed on December 10, 2018, four months ahead of the schedule, a source in UzAvtoSanoat said.

The plant, an equally-owned company that will operate a production plant in the Jizzakh free economic zone, located 200 km from Tashkent, is being designed jointly with the French engineers in line with the standards of Peugeot-Citroen. The joint venture, whose initial capital will be 30 million euros, will require 130 million euros of total investments, with 600 jobs created.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed to achieve the plant completion by December 10, 2018, with initial completion date being Q1 of 2019.

"Two models will be produced at the plant - Peugeot Boxer and Peugeot Expert, with 3,000 and 13,000 cars to be produced a year, respectively", - the source added.

About 50% of cars are expected to be exported to Russia, other CIS countries, as well as Iran and France.

As reported earlier the French giant will bring its technological and intellectual capacities. It will set up processes and train staff. The joint venture expects that at least 50% of the parts will be produced locally within the first year, taking advantage of the network of UzAvtoSanoat and its suppliers.
