The largest Uzbek glass bottles manufacturer, Asl Oyna will invest $ 178 million to expand its capacity. The company is intending to triple its production capacity from 200 to 600 million units a year through construction of the third, fourth and fifth glass melting furnaces and a raw materials enrichment plant for glass production. $ 130 million worth of process equipment will be purchased to this end, with at least one thousand new jobs to be created.
The general meeting of company shareholders has taken a decision to change the form of ownership from a joint-stock company (JSC) to a limited liability company (LLC) before the implementation of all investment projects.
The projects will be financed through attraction of a $ 100 million soft loan of the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan, $ 30 million investments by the NBU and other sources.
The remaining funds will be used to set up seven new plants at South Industrial Zone in Sergeli district: for production of soft drinks, beer, liqueurs, fruit and vegetable cans, metal covers and stickers, as well as a plant for enrichment of raw materials for glass production.
