As reported earlier the Uzbek-Chinese JV New Silk Road Oil & Gas Company has started construction of gas fields cluster at Karakul investment block (Bukhara province).
"Construction of infrastructure facilities of gas fields cluster at Karakul investment block have now commenced. The construction is ongoing at Angren tire plant, PVC production plant, Dustlik 1, 2 and 3 pumping stations, Shargun coal mine projects," the Chinese Ambassador to Uzbekistan Sun Lijie said in an interview to UzA.
The feasibility study of the $ 377.5 million Khojasayat section of Dengizkul gas condensate field (GCF), Khodjadavlet GCF and Sharqiy Alat GCFs development projects has been approved by the Government of Uzbekistan this year.
869.6 mln cubic meters of natural gas and 6,4 thousand tons of gas condensate will be produced annually at design capacity. China Petroleum Engineering & Construction Corporation (CPECC), a subsidiary of CNPC, was assigned as the contractor for the fields development.
According to the Ambassador, the Chinese side supports the creation of free economic and small industrial zones in Uzbekistan and will encourage Chinese enterprises to bring investments.
"I would like to emphasize that we will use all opportunities to implement the agreements reached during the meetings of the heads of our states, the planned joint projects, and we are fully ready for mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas," the diplomat concluded.
