Uzbekistan received $197.84 million in humanitarian aid In 2023, the Ministry of Economy and Finance said in a report on Friday.
30 countries provided support, with 83.63% falling on five countries:
- Germany - $71.38 million, or 36%;
- China - $27.47 million (13.9%);
- USA - $23.23 million (11.8%);
- Belgium - $22.62 million (11.4%);
- Switzerland - $20.76 million (10.5%).
Humanitarian assistance by sector:
- health care - $169.23 million (85.5% of all assistance);
- social - $1.24 million;
- ecology and environmental protection - 943.2 thousand dollars;
- education - 247.2 thousand dollars.
The majority of this assistance was received by the Committee for Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health - 58.2%, Taminot va logistics hizmati (Provision and Logistics Service) - 17.2%, the Research Institute of Hematology - 10.5 %, For a Healthy Generation charitable foundation - 11.2%.
While, in 2022, Uzbekistan received $193.6 million in humanitarian aid from 27 countries. The majority came from the USA - $108.03 million (55.8%), Belgium - $23.14 million (12%), Germany - $19.24 million (9.9%) and the Netherlands - $16.5 million (8.5%). Also, the largest share came from healthcare – $190.28 million (98.3%).
In 2021, the volume of assistance from 30 countries topped $147.86 million.
