Over 91 thousand passenger cars (including special vehicles) were manufactured in Uzbekistan in Q1 of 2024, the Statistics Agency said in a report.
This is 50.7% more than in January-March 2023 (60,414). Most of the production fell on Chevrolet Cobalt - more than 28.3 thousand cars (+59.5%).
The production of Lacetti/Gentra decreased by 20.9%; production of this model was planned to cease in April of this year.
Production of Onix model, serial production of which began in February 2023, increased from 559 to 8338 units, Tracker model - from 1660 to 12205.
The total manufacture of KIA models at the ADM Jizzakh plant reached 4980 (an increase of 1.5 times), Chery – 2,990 (an increase of 3.5 times).
Haval models production topped 205 units, Exeed models - 38.
The production volume of special vehicles increased from 6,209 to 6,317 units.
In 2023, UzAuto Motors took an 81% share in Uzbekistan’s car market with the production of 369.99 thousand cars worth $4.85 billion. ADM Jizzakh managed to slice the 5.5%, with the rest coming from imports, including the import of 8,948 BYD vehicles worth $291 million.
