The Russian Eurocement Group will build a new cement plant at Angren free economic zone, a source in UzQurilishMateriallari said.
According to the source, the agreement for project realization was signed during Shavkat Mirziyoyev's April visit to Russia, when a cooperation memorandum was inked between UzQurilishMateriallariand and EUROCEMENT group,
"The project foresees the construction of a 2.4 Mt cement plant. This will be a modern energy-efficient enterprise that will manufacture through dry method, which will save 35-45% of natural gas"- the source added.
Currently, Eurocement Group has announced a call for bids for the plant construction, with bidders involving Chinese, German and Turkish companies. The project is expected to completed by the end of 2018.
The project, according to the source, is under special oversight of the Government. In particular, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who visited Angren on July 21, instructed to issue a resolution aimed at speeding up the cement plant project, and the first deputy PM will provide assistance to achieve the transition to active construction phase.
