It is planned to install biogas plants in 726 large livestock and poultry farms up to 2020 in Uzbekistan. The Government of Uzbekistan adopted a Measures to Increase Biogas Plants in Uzbekistan for 2017-2019 Resolution.

According to the program in 2017-2019, biogas plants will be installed in 726 large livestock and poultry farms, in 2017 - 75 plants, in 2018 - 291 and in 2019 - 360.

The Resolution says that the country biogas plants manufacturing has been launched at 8 domestic enterprises, including at JSC "Oil and Gas and Chemical Engineering Plant".

The document added that UzbekNeftegaz, AKB Agrobank and China’s Poly International Holding signed a Memorandum on Cooperation in setting up production of modern biogas plants worth $ 10 million.

To date in Uzbekistan, biogas plants have been installed in 45 livestock and poultry farms with a total annual capacity of 1.1 million cubic meters of biogas, including 21 biogas plants with the financial support of the Global Environment Fund.
