The government of Uzbekistan plans to increase the gas production by at least 9% to 56.3 billion cubic meters (BCM) in 2023. While, the gas production has declined in recent years.
Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov chaired a government meeting regarding the mistakes made in preparation for the autumn-winter season.
"According to preliminary estimates, there is a possibility to increase the volume of gas production to 56.3 BCM in 2023 (51.7 BCM in 2022), a 4.6 BCM increase compared to last year, he said at the meeting.
He added that Uzbekneftgaz would implement 744 geological and technical measures worth 5.7 trillion soums in order to increase the gas production to 32.8 BCM this year.
