In the backdrop of massive sanctions, Russian restaurateurs are preparing to establish closer ties with Uzbek producers of vegetables, fruits, textiles and wine, announced the President of the Federation of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Russia Igor Bukharov.

He met with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Russia, Botirjon Asadov and discussed the cooperation with Uzbek manufacturers.

“We are interested in vegetables, fruits, nuts. There are entire agro-industrial clusters in Uzbekistan. There are also clusters of light industry, where they make linen from cotton and sew textiles for hotels and restaurants. They also have their own winery and are ready to supply this product as well,” Bukharov said.

He underscored that earlier products from Uzbekistan were mainly supplied only to the market, with no direct ties established with restaurateurs.

“We agreed that in May there would be a special event with suppliers and buyers from Russia. We will invite restaurateurs there so that they can taste everything and maybe enter into some contracts directly,” added the chief of the federation.
