President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has chosen the project for the new terminal for Samarkand International Airport, the Uzbekistan 24 said.
Several projects were presented to the head of state during familiarization with the construction progress of the Yunusabad metro line extension Thursday, and he chose “the most suitable option for Samarkand”.
The new, additional terminal, the design of which will be a “synthesis of the past and the present,” will match modern trends and will have 600 passenger per hour throughput capacity.
It was reported earlier, that in preparation for the SCO Summit in Samarkand in 2022, in addition to the construction of a new terminal, reconstruction of the runway, expansion of aircraft parking and modernization of the airport's radar systems were planned.
