A three-year-old child has tragically died after being left inside a vehicle at a private, family-run kindergarten in the Qashqadaryo province, the press service of the Ministry of Preschool and School Education said.
The toddler, a student at the facility, passed away after being left unattended in the institution's transport vehicle. Officials emphasized that the kindergarten's management and staff had previously received multiple warnings from competent authorities regarding the strict adherence to child transportation safety rules.
On June 4, due to gross negligence and a direct violation of established safety protocols, the child was left behind in the car, leading to the fatal outcome. Law enforcement agencies have initiated a criminal case, and an active investigation is currently underway.
Authorities also announced that the contractual agreement with the solo entrepreneur operating the kindergarten has been terminated. In light of this tragedy, parents are being strongly urged to pay close attention to the safety of their children during their commutes to and from educational institutions.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the incident occurred in the Koson district and involved a young girl born in 2023. A criminal case has been opened under Article 116 of the Criminal Code (Improper performance of professional duties).
As part of the ongoing investigation, the suspect—the driver of the vehicle—was formally detained on June 5, 2026. Investigative proceedings are continuing.
