The number of people with disabilities in Uzbekistan stood at 1,031,609 people, or 2.7% of the population as of April 1 of 2025.

According to the National Agency for Social Protection, 465,645 people, or 45%, of people with disabilities are women, 565,964 people, or 55%, are men, and 173,285 of them are children under 18 years of age:

  • Group I disability category (most severe) - 94,722 people;
  • Group II - 695,372 people;
  • Group III (least severe) - 67,006 people.

Most people with disabilities are in those aged 30 to retirement age (493,879 people).

Year-to-date, 17,499 people were granted first-time disability by medical and social expert commissions, and 41,487 people were re-granted disability.

First-time disability was mainly determined for diseases of the circulatory system (2,808), diseases of the musculoskeletal system (1,900), congenital malformations (1,724), endocrine diseases (1,580), and diseases of the nervous system (1,349).

The ranking of disabled people by provinces:

Samarkand (110,189);

Kashkadarya (108,041);

Fergana (94,395);

Andijan (88,470);

Surkhandarya (88,470).

The lowest figures were observed in Syrdarya (38,123), Jizzakh (44,496), Navoi (48,172) and Bukhara (60,446) provinces.
