At the session of the Legislative Chamber, MPs reviewed amendments to the National Guard Law. MPs noted that the existing regulations had been failing to define the procedure by which National Guard officers, while they are performing official duties, are required to identify themselves when addressing an individual or when an individual addresses them.
In line with the Article 6 of the amended Constitution, the principle of respecting the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of citizens is supplemented by a provision on the obligation of a serviceman (officer) of the National Guard to identify him/herself when addressing a citizen, as well as to explain his/her rights and obligations.
After heated discussions, the amendments were passed in the first reading.
