Uzbek banks' net profit rose by 5 trillion soms, or 68%, year on year, the Central Bank said in a report. Their net profit reached 12.33 trillion soms in January-July 2026, up from 7.33 trillion soms in the same period of 2025.

The analysis shows that lending remains the banks' main source of income. Interest income over the seven months totaled 84.4 trillion soms, compared with 71.4 trillion soms a year earlier, while interest expenses stood at 60.8 trillion soms, up from 49.8 trillion soms. Net interest income came to 23.6 trillion soms.

Non-interest income reached 61.5 trillion soms in the period, an increase of 20 trillion soms from a year earlier. Non-interest expenses totaled 20.3 trillion soms.

As of Aug. 1, 2026, deposits in banks stood at 482.7 trillion soms, compared with 360.4 trillion soms a year earlier. That is an increase of about 122 trillion soms, or 34%. The banking system's outstanding loans totaled 644.6 trillion soms, up 68.4 trillion soms from a year earlier.
