The rates of import duties on confectionery and chocolate will be raised in Uzbekistan starting from January 1, 2020. This is provided for by Oct. 2 presidential decree.

The import duty on sugar-free confectionery (including white chocolate) that does not contain cocoa will be increased up to 30% with a minimum threshold of 0.35 dollars/kg (now 20%, but not less than 0.25 dollars/kg).

The rate of import of chocolate and other ready food items containing cocoa will increase to 30% with a minimum threshold of $ 0.35/kg (now 15%, but not less than $ 0.30/kg).

In 2018, import duties on confectionery and chocolate were at 10%.
