On August 20, the President Mirziyoyev familiarized himself with the mining and metallurgical plant construction project near the Tebinbulak deposit in the Karauzyak district during his trip to Karakalpakstan, the press service of the head of state said.
The resource reserve of the deposit is estimated at 1.1 billion tons. According to preliminary estimates, it is planned to mine 33 million tons of ore per year and get 1.5 million tons of iron from it.
As reported earlier, the measures for the project implementation were outlined by the presidential decree of January 12, 2018.
The mining and metallurgical plant will reportedly have an annual production capacity of 900 thousand tons of fittings, 225 thousand tons of wire, 375 thousand tons of corners, channels and other materials. The project will contribute to significantly substitute imports and will create more than 2 thousand jobs.
The companies involved in the preparation and implementation of the project are DMT-Group Consulting (Germany) and Horst Wiesinger Consulting (Austria).
