On October 14, during a visit to the Tashkent province, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attende a launch ceremony of nine projects worth a total of $2 billion.
The ceremony took place in the Yangiyul district, the press service of the presidential press service said. By pressing a symbolic button, the president launched the construction and operation of these projects.
Great Silk Road special industrial technopark will be erected in Almalyk on 227 hectares through $1 billion of investment. It will house about 100 enterprises working in such areas as electrical engineering, textiles, construction materials, and pharmaceuticals. 3,000 new jobs will be created, production of goods worth 5 trillion soums per year will be launched, and the opportunity to export goods worth $300 million will appear, the report says.
In the Yukorichirchik district, a textile industrial park with an area of 69 hectares will be created for $350 million. It will house more than 20 enterprises for the production of yarn, dyed fabric, and finished textile products.
In the Yangiyul district, enterprises for the production of 50 thousand tons of mineral fertilizers and chemicals per year are being commissioned, and in Kibray - enterprises for the production of export-oriented food products.
In the Buka district, a solar power plant worth $ 240 million will be built together with China Datang. It will generate 576 million kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, which is enough to supply 240 thousand households. As a result, the generation capacity in the province will be increased to 6.5 gigawatts, and electricity production - to 24 billion kilowatt-hours per year.
Two more projects are energy storage systems with a capacity of 200 megawatts worth $ 220 million, which will be built in the Parkent and Pskent districts together with China Energy Overseas Investment. They will avoid outages during peak hours and reliably provide consumers with electricity.
Currently, there are 25 hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 1,330 megawatts operating in the province. This is 60% of the total hydroelectric capacity of our republic. Another four hydroelectric power plants are under construction, costing $880 million and with a capacity of 340 megawatts. By 2028, 23 projects with a total capacity of about 2,400 megawatts worth $4.8 billion will also be implemented in the province.
During the ceremony, two of them were commissioned - a small hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 2.5 megawatts in the Akhangaran district and a small Ugam hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 1.5 megawatts in the Bostanlyk district. They will generate 18.4 million kilowatt-hours of energy per year and provide electricity to 7,600 households.
